Web Design Podcasts

I've been meaning to write this post for ages and finally here it is. I've been slow to get into Podcasts as usually any big hip trends I tend to avoid us much as possible  as I like to independent and not go with the ‘sheep’. “Innovate don’t imitate” – I read it in a graphic design book. Anyway I finally succumbed to Podcasts just as I did to Facebook. Whilst designing and building websites usually I listen to music but got bored of my extensive collection and turned to the iTunes shop within iTunes where you can find and download free podcasts.

Web Design Podcasts Review

1.    Boagworld

You just can’t beat these guys, I look forward to their podcast every week just as I’d look forward to a weekly TV show. They are funny and very informative indeed. I’ve learnt  a lot by listening to them.  It’s sad when it finishes and I have to wait another week.

2.    The Rissington Podcast

These chaps come recommended by Boagworld and are new on the scene. They are two English guys in an ex RAF bunker and are very enjoyable listening. An excellent themed mood of the good old boys in the war –whato!. There’s some good advice hidden within the great many laughs.

3.    Engines of Creation

These are two American chaps in New York with some very interesting cutting edge web design news tips and tricks. Although you could almost say they are too cutting edge and talk about things that don’t matter so much to lone web designer in the field such as I. Unfortunately they are not very regular. I wouldn’t miss an episode though as some things I’ve learnt off them have been most useful and encouraging.

I humbly advise you to at least listen to this one -  “20 web design resources you shouldn’t be without”

4.    Mr SEO’s Podcast

Lastly all web designers and developers worth their title should have a good understanding of how to build sites with good SEO built in from the ground up. This is where Mr SEO comes in. I haven’t been to the US but this guy sounds like a Mafioso boss in the ‘Bronx’. He really knows his  SEO stuff though, he’s a guru at it and his podcasts are invaluable.  I just wish he’s post them more regularly.

Well that’s it from me. Please let me know if anyone ever finds this info useful, I’d be stoked if you could leave a comment
