Hi people, yes I have finally found a good bit of screen recording software for the Mac since a client needed me to make a little screencast.
The software is called "iShowU", you can find it here:
www.shinywhitebox.com and it only costs $20 USD!. It's great to see such a pro app that is affordable for the great unwashed.
For the more techie amongst you I recorded the screen cast in HDV 720p with a custom audio setting - Linear PCM - Little Endian compression, 48,000 khz, 2 channels. I did this so I could edit it without having to render in Final Cut Pro.
Then I exported it using Flash Video Encoder. At 600px wide using the Flash default 'medium' broadband quality.

Hi people, sorry I've been a little slack with my writing this blog. The reason is I'm not sure if anyone is reading it - apart from my faithful content checker :)
Anyway if you use a Mac and are constantly needing to check the width and or height of web page elements then this is a marvelous discovery -
www.pascal.com/software/freeruler
Instead of copy and pasting into Photoshop with 'Control-⌘-Shift-4' and using the ruler in there you can just fire up the trusty old 'Free Ruler'
Enjoy!

Yes it is true , one of the founders of VOIP has slipped over to the dark side and started charging a "connection fee", they did it very subtly.
Now many of their hundred million or so users will switch over to the competitors once they realise what is going on.
It's a great shame really. See what they are saying on the
forums...

I recently heard of a business who used a cheap web host and web developer for their online business. Now the shop isn't functional and the site has downtime of up to two days at a time. The web developer is unable to fix it and doesn't respond to calls or emails. They even erased the site by mistake.
The point I'm making is that after looking at the web developers site there is just no way to know that it's dodgy as the site is all slick and smooth.
So beware you people out there!
