Well I flew away from my wife, toddler and baby to seek new clients at CeBIT. Unfortunately I didn't meet a single potential client. Although the exhibition was great. I saw some awesome things including a data center in a cargo container, usb microscopes, eye tracking, GPS laptop tracking, military grade Tablet PC's. There where delegations and representatives from Korea, UK, South Africa, China, Germany and more.
I'm sure the the talks would have been great to go to as they looked interesting but they where priced exclusively for big business.
I felt a little out of my depth as a lone website designer from a little town in Northern New South Wales. It was good to know though that Australia's largest IT Expo had chosen to build their website in the same way I do for all my clients. That is using the Joomla content management system!
On the way to the expo I could not help but notice the IMAX theatre with the worlds largest cinema screen and that Star Trek was on! Of course I could not resist and succumbed to the experience. It made the whole trip worthwhile.
Now as you can see I've made a little video to prove that I actually went to CeBIT. I hope you enjoy it. I feel a little dismayed that I went to all the effort of going to CeBITĀ but came back less than empty handed but I suppose at least I saw Star Trek!
