This site is for an events organiser specialising in music but they wanted it to be generic to allow for future expansion. They also wanted me to create their brand. So I started with the branding as all my websites are based around the clients brand. The process was long one but my client was very happy in the end with her branding.
The logo was created in Adobe Illustrator entirely with 'vector' graphics making it completely editable and scalable for any use such as in black and white fax or the side of a skyscraper - with no loss of quality.
The client had a very specific idea in mind for the layout and navigation of the site that went against my knowledge and experience as a professional web designer of ten years. To the clients credit though it did come out well, sometimes it is actually better to do things in a way that you are not supposed to!
For the contact form I used my now favorite: MachForm, this allows the client to have full control over all apects of the form apart from it's styling. It's also saves the client money since form creation is a typically a time consuming thing.
I did a full page Flash intro as well, you must be careful with these though as 'Skip Intro' is the second most clicked on button on the web! Flash was wanted throughout the site but thankfully not in the end due the the amount of extra time it would take.
All in all the project was a success and was done to a budget that still allows the client pay for advertising which is of course essential with any new website.
